Many years ago, Willy Brandt, former West German Chancellor, reportedly said: "If I'm selling to you, I speak your language. If I'm buying, dann muessen Sie Deutsch sprechen (Translation: then you must speak German)." Indeed globalization makes so much more sense with localization, which in turn starts with using your customer’s language.

While working with companies in Asia, Europe and North America, from time to time, we find companies either do not market their products or/and services in their customers’ language/s, or have poor and unprofessional translation and interpreting. This reflects badly on those companies and by all means is costly. In an attempt to salvage such situations, companies often approach us for help in the midst of our consulting work. To them, Olive Kan Global is a rare find: international business and trade experience, fields of expertise, coupled with our team’s professional training and experience in translation and interpreting. We are frequently invited to proofread translations, and help interview/hire/evaluate translators and interpreters. In response to our clients’ request, we have therefore added translation and interpreting to our line of services. This allows us to provide value-added service to our clients while saving their money at the same time.

Cost:

Translation

Cost varies depending on the source file format, subject, project complexity and source language word count. For example, audio and video files will have to be transcribed first before translation can take place, you will pay for both transcription and translation. Interpreting

$1,200/day (per eight-hour day weekdays Monday-Friday)

$1,500/day (per eight-hour day Saturday, Sunday and holidays)

$300/hour (in excess of eight hours, or after 5:00 pm)
